Joshua spake unto the Lord, the day the LORD delivered the Amorites to the Israelites, and he said in Israel: "Sun, stand still on Gibeon, and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ayalon. And the sun stood still and the moon stopped, until the nation had avenged themselves upon their enemies. (Joshua 10:12-13)
The Israelites were well fought and the victory was close - but the night was coming. Joshua realized that when the night would have fallen, the Amorites could escape. They needed more time. So before all the troops he commanded "Sun, stand still, and thou, Moon, in the Ayalon Valley, do not move! "And the sun stood still and the moon kept its position.
The same resources that were available to Joshua - resources that enabled the existence of the universe, the resources that have been moving earth on its axis and have rotated around the sun - are available to you as a child of God.
We often mistake of thinking that God will do everything that we have nothing to do. But the Bible tells us that faith without works is dead.
GOD wants us to do our best and we entrust the rest to God.
When we reach our limits, we discover the infinite resources at our disposal to accomplish and complete the work of God.
__________
Father, we are so grateful to serve you - you who God is unlimited, infinite, can do infinitely beyond all that we ask or think. Lord, we are weak and we need your strength. Takes control of our lives, Lord, guide us and lead us.
Amen.
