Reflex Camera Simulator

February 11 - February 10

They took their provisions without consulting the Lord. Joshua made peace and concluded an alliance with them, guaranteeing them life, and the princes of the community in their vowed. (Joshua 9:14-15)

God had specifically told the Israelites that they should enter into any alliance with the inhabitants of the Promised Land, but they had to drive them out completely. God knew that if these people had left, their practices would eventually destroy His people. The Gibeonites having realized they were no match against the armies of Israel, had concocted a plan to give the impression that they came from a distant country in order to conclude an alliance with Israel.

Joshua's mistake was to consider the elements evidence without asking the opinion of the Lord. God had warned against the evil alliance, but Joshua did not seek the counsel of God. He just assess the situation with regard to what was before him. Some things seem so obvious. You should not have to bother God about these things, is not it? Just go ahead using your common sense.

Wrong! The Scriptures tell us "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your mind, acknowledge Him in all your ways, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5 -6).

WE AVOID TRAGIC ERRORS: 1) ALWAYS IN FOR THE WORD OF GOD TO GUIDE OUR DECISIONS 2) NEVER FAILING IN ACTION AS WE DO NOT LOOK THE FIRST BRANCH OF THE LORD IN PRAYER.

Is not it rather foolish to trust my own judgments when I have the advantage of being able to go to God for advice?

__________

Lord, help us to pay attention to warnings of Your Word. May we seek Thee that You are helping us to take all our decisions.
Amen.
