Delilah said to Samson: Reveal to me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to tame you. (Judges 16:6)
Samson's strength was legendary. When the Spirit of God came upon him, it was the exploits that showed surprising strength. His enemies tried to find the secret of its strength. When they saw that he had fallen in love with a Philistine woman, Delilah, they approached the girl, promising him "Listen, all of us will give you 1100 silver coins, if you find the secret of our strength this man. "
Delilah asked Samson, Samson, tell me darling, what makes you so strong? What is the secret of your strength? "
Unfortunately, one of the weaknesses of Samson was a feeling of invincibility. He seemed to enjoy flirting with danger, and kept venturing into enemy territory.
Samson finally revealed his secret to Delilah. He explained that he had made a vow - a vow of consecration to God. No razor had touched his head. "If my hair was shaved, I'd be weak as any man." But Samson's long hair was a symbol. The secret of his strength was his commitment to God. As he was faithful to this commitment, it was really invincible. When the engagement was broken, he became weak as any other man.
THE SECRET OF YOUR STRENGTH LIES IN YOUR COMMITMENT TO JESUS CHRIST.
If you commit yourself fully to Jesus, you will be invincible. Even the gates of hell shall not prevail against you. But if you break this commitment to Jesus Christ, you will become as weak as any other man.
