According to UNHCR thousands of Christians fleeing the central Iraq to seek refuge in Kurdistan or abroad. We have lost count now that half a million Christians in Iraq cons 800 000 to 1.2 million in 2003. In Strasbourg three bishops from Iraq seeking help were received by the archbishop of Strasbourg.
